SPRING CREEK MAKEOVER
“I could go on for days about how much we loved working with Gerber Berend. This was our first renovation experience and we were expecting it to be a tedious and unpleasant process. It was exactly the opposite of that. They were professional, their daily communication was excellent, they were conscientious of our budget, and were just a delight to work with. They listened to what we wanted, and the end result was better than we could have ever dreamed. We would recommend Gerber Berend to anyone and everyone in Steamboat and beyond!”

“WOW, I can’t believe what you did with that house!”
Steamboat housing is expensive. For most, there are great sacrifices to be made if you want to live downtown. This was particularly true of a young family moving here from Denver last year.
The story is a common one. The location was perfect. Near schools. Near the Spring Creek trail. Walking distance to Lincoln Avenue. The house… not so great.
In today’s “mountain town” real estate market, this house was either going to be a rental or a teardown. The clients turned to Gerber Berend for another path.
On a relatively tight budget we transformed this ugly duckling to a swan that has garnered the attention of the neighborhood. More than one of us has heard, “WOW, I can’t believe what you did with that house!” New kitchen, new master bath, new entry and a new updated look. The trick was use what was there and change only what was necessary and to pay attention to the details.
As always, it helped to have great clients with great taste and vision. The Gerber Berend design build process worked perfectly here, identifying costs drivers early and tackling the inevitable surprises of a remodel. Inside and out, this home has been transformed from eyesore to showpiece.
